Times Square at 1150pm.

Faces at Times Square

Such a big tv.

My "it's time for bed, guys.." face.

The irony of walking through Times Square is that I was JUST riding a camel in the Saharan Desert less than 3 weeks ago.

So from this:

To this:

Mind. Blown.

Next day in NYC. 6/19/14

Tired is an understatement. Last night, the dog that sleeps with me decided to like every hour on the hour and wrecked my beauty sleep. And for some reason, 4am seemed like a perfect time for me to be wide awake since I'm still jetlagging from my last international adventure.

But somehow, this makes everything ok.

Madrid Airport: Layover of Death

All my blog entries are out of order cuz I've been a tad lazy and busy all at the same time. I am currently ending my Europe/Morocco galavanting and am in the Madrid airport on my way to New York City. Below are a few things that made me smile in the airport.

#1

Bakery foodstuffs. Although I didn't purchase one, I saw the best combination of 2 heavens. The "Cronut" or the croissant pastry, formed into the infamous donut shape, possibly fried, and then doused in cinnamon sugar.

I am a snob when it comes to orange juice and I can honestly say the succulent and awe-inspiring nectars I've drunk on my trip to Spain have been some of the best I've ever had in the world. The only ones that may surpass this were in Belize, but I'm pretty sure they expertise was all citrus fruits--pineapples, mangoes, and MAYBE oranges. I can't remember. I'd have to go back there again to engage in some constant comparative analysis (my dissertation research method just in case anybody got that lame nerd reference).

This machine squashes maybe 4 oranges in a mesmerizing sequence that just thinking about makes my mouth water. They call it "zumo" with a hard /chz/ sound. It's about €3-4 a cup which is outrageous but a marvelous treat.

Here's an automated version. Simply genius.

I don't have a picture of this one. I found my most favorite clothing store in the whole world--literally. I've never loved everything in a whole store and felt that the clothing fibers of each piece spoke to my inner heart fibers such as they did in Desigual. The store is way out of my price range but they have my size in lots of things and that makes me very happy.

The designers are of Spain and it is like chic hipster goes to the Metropolitan and gets splattered with bright colors. They fashionized graffiti and made it classy. My grandmother bought a maxi dress for me from this store and I'm totally in love with it and can't wait to wear it when I get to NYC.

I meandered through the duty-free store pretending that I was rich and saw that they has some super cute stuff from the designer Desigual. Yay! I looked on some of their shirts and dresses and purses and it had their tag line or saying stitched on them which was "Sex, Fun, and Love." Oh my goodness! So then I entertained the idea of getting a "fun" aka eff-buddy so that I could follow and embrace the first one-third of the store's mantra.

Or maybe I'll just read my Bible instead..

**sigh**

And finally.

Maybe 4,975 millisecond after I started moping about my singleness for the umpteenth time, I crossed this intersection and looked down the hallway and squealed "Alas! My chocolate, wonderfully athletic and toned sculpture has come to rescue me!" Approximately 2,450 after this, I had planned our wedding, custom built home (since he IS an athlete and rich for sure), and romantic love story of how we met in the airport and it was love at first sight. Them about 3,279 milliseconds past that, I almost crumpled to the floor in dismay and sobs as I realized my chocolate sculpture was made of plastic model and a figment of my imagination. Well played, Adidas. Well. Played.

Ending.

See, this is what happens when you have a 270 minute layover. So many adventures.

Wall Street to Harlem

Today I'm walking from Wall Street to Harlem. Here are some things I saw on my adventure. Unfortunately I just now thought of this idea so the first 45ish blocks are pictureless. But I figure

Times Square
Is a good place to start the pics.

Here's Elmo--take pics for tips.

Made it!!

I'm. Tired.

Here's my reward: Sukiyaki. Marinated beef, tofu, rice, green onions, gross poached eggs that I scooped out; miso soup and mixed salad with sesame dressing. And LOTS of water.

Map of route today.

Yay me!
