Beignets--don't tell my trainer

I feel like this blog is going to be about all the foods my trainer has told me I can't eat. Today I ate beignets at a local restaurant called Tea Bayou. It is owned and operated by a New Orleans couple. I drank some DELICIOUS hibiscus and green tea combination.

I may have accidentally had some pecan pie too. I'm about to had a terrible stomach and headache.

Miso!

I love Asian soup and noodles and stir fry and enjoyed sipping on succulent Japanese miso at a restaurant last night. But, I didn't like paying $2.99 for 6 ounces of substance that I'll pee out in less than 30 minutes.

I went to Whole Foods--the Mecca for all hipster food--in Nashville and bought some red miso soy paste. It didn't seem difficult to make, but I have had incalculable and very recent and debilitating cooking disasters as of late that have stolen my confidence. So I was fearful.

BUT! Today, I had a bit of a fever and an "almost cold" and needed something soupy. I also don't have much food in my fridge cuz shopping just seems too hard right now.

So, 3ish cloves of garlic, 4 tbsp. of olive oil, 4ish cups of broccolini florets, 7 scallions diced to make those cool circle things, 4 oz. red miso soy paste, 4 tbsp. of Shoyu soy sauce later, I got this!:

Farmers Market

Today, I went to the farmers market, which I do every Saturday--well almost every Saturday. My trainer said that I can't eat a plethora of my favorite things in the whole world which makes for an incredibly sad Jenaya. Not out of spite, but out of the need to celebrate myself on this blessed Boolessness Day Weekend, I decided to splurge on a wheat product. So this is me with a fresh Belgian waffle with caramelized sugary stuff.
